WORKING MEETING OF NORDIC BUSINESS ALLIANCE AND PRIME-MINISTER ALEKSANDAR VUČIĆ

WORKING MEETING OF NORDIC BUSINESS ALLIANCE AND PRIME-MINISTER ALEKSANDAR VUČIĆ

On Monday, 7th December in Radisson Blu Hotel, at 12:00, the Nordic Business Alliance had the pleasure of welcoming the Prime Minister of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić. This conference marked the beginning, of a long term cooperation with the aim to with mutual effort remove obstacles for doing business of the Nordic companies, and by extension, the whole business community in Serbia. At the panel the guests were addressed by Prime Minister, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, H.E. Christer Asp, Ambassador of Sweden in Serbia, Mrs. Jasmina Vignjević, Chairwomen of the Board of Governors of the NBA and Executive Director of the Nordic Business Alliance, Andreja Pavlovic, who moderated the discussion. The Prime Minister answered the questions of companies who attended the gathering. Besides the Prime Minister, on the side of the Government we’ve had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Željko Sertić, Minister of Economy, Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Labor, Mr. Zlatibor Lončar, Minister of Health, Mayor of Belgrade Mr. Siniša Mali, as well as State secretaries and representatives of relevant Ministries. At the conference, all the Nordic Embassies in Belgrade sent delegations to represent themselves, with H.E. Christer Asp, the ambassador of Sweden as well as H.E. Pertti Ikonen, the ambassador of Finland in Serbia personally attending the gathering. The first part of the conference was followed with the meeting with the representatives of Ministries with whom member companies have had opportunity to discuss issues that they face in everyday business. In light of the good news that there has been an increase in foreign trade exchange between Serbia and the Nordic countries for more than 10% compared to the previous year, additional efforts were announced by the Prime Minister to attract additional investments from the Nordic region. The Nordic Business Alliance wants to position itself as a proactive and responsible partner, and as the next stage in this project we anticipate meetings with the relevant ministries in order to put forward proposals for addressing the challenges we touched upon at the meeting with Prime Minister Vučić. We’ve had a great response rate at the meeting, with more than 80 different Nordic companies operating in Serbia being represented. This shows that Nordic companies have a huge common denominator, that with joint activities of this type we will be able to more quickly articulate our problems and therefore respond in order to promote our common goals, among which is an open market in Serbia, governed by the principles of good business ethics by which we will all operate, to the mutual satisfaction of our companies and all citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
