The purpose of the Nordic Business Alliance in Serbia is to become a place where ideas and experiences among Nordic business community and Serbian could be exchanged. What are those ideas and experiences of Nordic companies, that make Alliance so proud of, we have discussed with Mr. Uros Mihajlovic, Executive Director of NBA. „All Nordic companies praise the values of countries they come from. Given the reputation of each Nordic country and as a region as well, the companies coming from them transpose that reputation, by supporting and promoting those values. Of course, every individual company promotes a different set of values, but we can find common values, such are: innovation, equality, sustainability, simplicity, efficiency. This approach in doing business built numerous Nordic companies, which dominate world market, and are trand-setters. We, in NBA, believe that Serbian companies should follow their example in order to improve their businesses and approach the standards of Nordic countries. “ How do Nordic companies assess business environment in Serbia? The Serbian market is opening itself and therefore becomes interesting for all foreign investors. Newest example is Telenor Bank, which is the first of its kind in Serbia. For this it was necessity to have innovative company which follows its clients needs, development in field of technology, but also legislation that is updated. Latest example of legislation changes are those who are targeting gray economy, Labor law, Law on Bankruptcy Proceedings, as well as the roll Serbia wishes to have in global business environment. What kind of events has been organized by NBA so far and what are the plans for the time to come? In early 2014 we have organized seminar on Sustainable development with lecturers from private, business and public sector. During the summer, we have had informal event with Dragan Bjeloglic, where we have talked about the ways of his career. The specificity of Nordic countries, and therefore their companies, is that they are open for learning from others who are successful, and there are many people from Serbia that are such. This year we have started long-term project named „The new classroom“ in cooperation with Nova Iskra, with purpose renovating classrooms for pupils from first till fourth grade of Elementary schools. By the end of the year we are planning to organize more gatherings and a seminar on corporative culture. We are very pleased with this year events and we are trying to make them interesting for our members. We are hopping to make next year even more active and diverse, in order to show full potential of our Alliance and our members. Is there an obligation that only Nordic countries can become members of NBA or Serbian companies can become members as well? Nordic Business Alliance is not exclusive when it comes to membership, in other words, it is open for any country, foreign or domestic, that share our vision and values.
