On February 1, as part of “Nordic Green – Solutions for Serbia” project, Swedish Embassy took a lead in Čačak to organize a conference focusing on Recycling and Waste Management.
This was third in a series of Nordic Green events, initiated and organized by the four Nordic embassies in Serbia – Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden – and with support and in cooperation with the Nordic Council of Ministers.
After two successful events – on sustainable agriculture in Novi Sad (led by Denmark) and renewable energy in Belgrade (led by Norway), the event in Čačak (led by Sweden), focused on waste management, looking at public and private sector cooperation in on this important topic, and Serbian and Nordic investments and experiences.
Nordic Business Alliance is a partner on this project, and with great lineup of speakers (including IKEA and Tetra Pak) who shared their experiences, the challenges they faced and the results they achieved, the goal was to encourage the state administration, local governments and businesses to consider Nordic examples, and perhaps integrate some best practices that could help sustainable economic growth in Serbia.
